Data We Collect

• Account data: username, display name, email address, optional phone number, password hash, account status, and age-safety fields such as date of birth or age band.
• Profile data: avatar or generated profile initials, locale, timezone, optional voice intro metadata, privacy settings, and profile visibility settings.
• Chat and user-generated content: private messages, group messages, message metadata, reactions, saved messages, approved image/voice/file media metadata, reports, blocks, and feedback that you create in PoloChat.
• Device and app usage data: device identifiers or push tokens, platform, app version, session/authentication metadata, IP address, user agent, security events, crash/diagnostic metadata if enabled, and notification delivery metadata.
• Location/discovery data if you allow it: approximate location metadata, geohash, city/region/country fields, and discovery impressions used to suggest friends safely. PoloChat does not show exact location or exact distance to normal users.

How We Use Data

We use data to create and secure accounts, provide chat and call features, recommend friends, deliver notifications, prevent abuse, enforce safety rules, provide support, and maintain PoloChat operations.

Backend And Service Providers

PoloChat uses Supabase as a backend database/service provider for PoloChat application data. PoloChat mobile clients must use the PoloChat backend API and must not contain Supabase service role keys or direct database credentials.

Chat, Media, And Moderation

PoloChat messages are designed to expire based on the selected chat setting. Authorized PoloChat moderation administrators may review active, non-expired safety-related content only for abuse prevention, safety, legal compliance, or support reasons with audit logging. PoloChat should not be marketed as full end-to-end encrypted while this moderation capability exists.

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion inside the PoloChat app from Settings or Profile, or by using the public Delete Account page if you cannot access the app.

After a deletion request, PoloChat suspends the account during a short grace period so accidental requests can be cancelled. When the deletion completes, PoloChat deletes or anonymizes account data and related user data such as profile fields, tokens, device records, discovery/location data, privacy exports, friendship/block records, active user-generated chat content, and owned media records. PoloChat may retain limited records when required for security, abuse prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or audit integrity.
